Significant events
1901 Introduction of parliamentarism in Denmark.

1920 The "Easter Crisis". King Christian X removes the duly elected government, provoking massive protests.

1920 Following a referendum, the northern portion of Slesvig rejoins Denmark, while the sourthern portion, and Holstein, remain German.

1940 Denmark occupied by Germany.

1945 Denmark liberated.

1949 Denmark joins NATO.

1953 Most recent constitutional revision.
