1671 Toleration edict for Roman Catholicism.
1684 Toleration edict for Judaism.
1685 Toleration edict for Calvinism.
1801 "Slaget på Reden" (the Battle of the Roadstead of Copenhagen). The British under Admiral Nelson force the Danes to break off their commitment to the Armed Neutrality Pact.
1807 British bombardment of Copenhagen.
1814 Denmark's involvement in the Napoleonic wars ends with national bankruptcy. By the Treaty of Kiel, Denmark cedes Norway to Sweden, gaining Lauenborg in return.
