The cand.mag. degree can also be taken
without elective modules at the MA level.
This form, however, leaves the graduate
without official teaching competence at
the level of the
gymnasium (Danish
system high school equivalent).
Getting a Ph.d. after a
cand.mag.
degree takes nominally 2 years.

[ Degree: magister artis = Extended MA ]

The mag.art. degree is chiefly aimed at research
and museum work, and does not give official
teaching competence at the
gymnasium level.
Getting a Ph.d. after a
mag.art.
degree takes nominally 1 year.
